As the water has been on the warming trend here off the coast of Naples, big schools of thread fin herring, and pilchards have been showing up. The spanish mackerel showed first right on the beaches gorging themselves on the tiny little white baits and glass minnows. We found a couple nice big bait balls this past week that were holding some really nice King Mackerel and bonito’s, that made for some great 1/2 day action. On the Full day trips the red grouper bite is still strong with tons of snapper mixed in. We caught a few sharks last week and a handful of African Pompano unexpectedly on a piece of hard bottom while grouper fishing. The boats are out of the water right now for service and fresh bottom jobs while this cold front passes through. We will get back out there on Friday and are expecting a stellar snapper bite! #naplesfishingboat
