Winter Fishing at its Best

By January 28, 2019February 7th, 2021No Comments

Our winter fishery in Naples, Fl is often overlooked because of the colder water and air temps.  The fact is the winter bite can be red hot!    When the water is muddied up from the turbulence of the waves on the surface stirring up the sand and silt off the bottom, the snapper fire up.  We typically start by sprinkling sand chum on various wrecks, ledges, or rockpiles offshore to get the snapper excited.  knocker rigs and light jigs on a controlled decent down through the chum slick seem to be the most productive.  The full day trips are still the most productive right now with limits of snapper, porgies and plenty of catch release Amberjack to top off the trips. For all the die hard  Red Grouper guys the bite is great out even further in the 100ft mark with  if you want to try an extended charter. The 1/2 days are seeing some nice mangrove snapper and tripletail.   We are coming into peak season so dont wait until the last minute to call and schedule your trip, we only have limited slots available.  Give us a shout and let us show you what Naples Fishing is all about. @naplesfishingboat #naplesfishingboat
