The crew here at Naples Fishing Boat have been steadily letting our clients tug on these huge Goliath Groupers. The Goliath Grouper, or as I like to call them “The Landlord” is one hard fighting fish to test your strength. Although these fish are catch and release only, it’s a great time being able to get one boatside for a safe release. Summer time warm water is the best time because these jokers get very active and love eating big live baits such as Jacks, Blue Runners, catfish etc.. It is not uncommon to catch several fish in a row this time of year with the proper baits. On these trips pictured, we used an 8ft custom rod with 300lb test on a two speed avet reel.
